32678 ยท Second Service Goods

Second Service Goods builds bags and field goods by hand in Las Vegas, Nevada. The materials come from what already exists. Military surplus wax canvas. Combat Identification Panels. Cold War Talon brass. Nothing is bought new from a catalog. Everything has been somewhere first.

Every piece is sewn one at a time, numbered on a brass tag, and recorded. The registry ties each bag to its materials, its zipper, and the pattern it was cut from. When the materials are gone, the run ends.

32678 was an Air Force Specialty Code. From 1982 to 1991, Dave Hammonds served under it. The number on the tag is the code he carried. The story is on the next page.
